Amazon Prime Video inks long-term deal to stream ‘Kabali’ and ‘Theri’

MUMBAI: Amazon India has signed a long-term deal with Tamil producer Kalaipuli S Thanu’s production company V Creations to exclusively stream Rajnikanth’s ‘Kabali’ and Vijay’s ‘Theri’ on Prime Video India.

Southern cinema and star-driven Tamil films have emerged among the most successful Indian content in the last decade, finding both national reach and viewers. A large number of Thanu’s films have been commercial blockbusters, of which two are among the top-10 highest grossing Tamil films of all time. We are certain that our Prime members will love the inclusion of these smashing titles in our selection within a few weeks from their theatrical release.”

Earning over Rs 500 crore in combined worldwide box-office collections, this is the first time that top Tamil films will be available on a video streaming service at almost the same time as their satellite TV premiere.
