Amazon Prime Video India inks deal with Zodiak Kids
MUMBAI: Focusing on expanding its content for kids, Amazon Prime Video India has announced a package deal with Zodiak Kids that sees the over-the-top (OTT) player acquire over 100 hours of content.
Amazon Prime Video India has acquired all four seasons of popular children’s animation ‘Horrid Henry’. The show centres on a boy named Henry who constantly feels like life just isn’t fair. ‘Horrid Henry’ is produced by Novel Entertainment Ltd for CiTV.
Speaking about the partnership, Amazon Prime Video India director and country head Nitesh Kripalani stated, “We are extremely happy to announce our collaboration with Zodiak Kids by bringing immensely popular characters like Horrid Henry to India. This alliance adds further volume to our existing bouquet of great kids’ programming, thus paving the way for us to have the largest exclusive selection of kids’ entertainment in India.”
The OTT platform has also picked up animation series ‘Extreme Football’, ‘Street Football’ and ‘Sally Bollywood’, the Bollywood mystery solving show. All series are produced by Zodiak Kids Studios. The shows are set to launch on Amazon Prime Video in early 2017.
Recently, Amazon inked an exclusive multi-year content deal with Xilam Animation, gaining access to its popular show ‘Oggy & the Cockroaches,’ ‘Zig & Sharko,’ Floopaloo Where Are You’, ‘A Kind of Magic’, ‘If I Were an Animal’, ‘Paprika’ and ‘The Daltons.’
Apart from Xilam, the OTT platform has signed a multi-year content deal with Green Gold Animation. As per the deal, they would become the exclusive subscription streaming home for all of Green Gold Animation’s future TV episodes and TV movies of ‘Chhota Bheem’, ‘Super Bheem’ and ‘Mighty Raju’.
Prime members in India would have access to Green Gold Animation’s vast library of top-rated shows and movies like ‘Krishna Balaram’, ‘Chorr Police’, ‘Luv Kush’, ‘Vikram & Betaal’ and ‘Krishna’, as well as the film ‘Chhota Bheem: Himalayan Adventure’. Green Gold’s merchandise, toys and books are also available on Amazon.in.
Amazon Prime Video, which launched in India in December, has partnered top Indian and international studios like Yash Raj Films, Dharma Productions, T-Series, Excel, Warner, Paramount, CBS, Everest, SVF, Green Gold, TV Asahi, Ultra Media & Entertainment, Lionsgate and CBeebies to offer elite content.
Amazon Prime also offers subscribers unlimited free one-day and two-day delivery to over 100 cities on eligible items.
