Colors pushed out Zee TV from the second position in the urban + rural HSM, according to BARC data for the week ended 25 August.
TDSAT posts Dish TV–Videocon d2h vs Star India case on issue of launch of pay GEC Star Bharat on DD Freedish on 12 Oct. In earlier hearing, Star had placed a chart before the tribunal containing the list of 8 channels that are available on Freedish while continuing to remain pay channels as carried by Videocon d2h or Dish.
Star is not discontinuing the HD version of its second Hindi GEC Life OK, which has been rebranded as Star Bharat HD. Thus, Star Bharat will have both the SD and the HD version. Star Bharat HD will be available only on pay platforms. Besides being on pay platforms, Star Bharat SD will also be available on Freedish.
Dish TV and Videocon d2h move TDSAT against Star’s decision to launch Star Bharat, which was earlier known as Life OK, on Freedish. They want the broadcaster to either declare it as a pay or an FTA channel.
Colors registered 41.48 cr weekly impressions in urban HSM. Zee Anmol maintained its lead in U+R HSM with 67.15 cr weekly impressions.
Star Bharat will be available on DTH and cable networks right from launch day since it is replacing Life OK. In addition, it will be available on Doordarshan’s free DTH platform Freedish.
Star Plus reclaimed its top spot in urban HSM while Colors slipped to the second spot in Week 32. Zee Anmol stayed at the top in U+R HSM with 66.59 crore weekly impressions.
