Delhi HC disposes of four more cases related to the DAS Phase III deadline extension as infructuous. In all, the bench of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva has disposed of 12 cases, meaning that all the cases related to the deadline extension have been disposed of.

TRAI proposes 55:45 rev share between MSOs and LCOs as fall-back option

TRAI has recommended a 55:45 revenue share between MSOs/HITS operators and LCOs as a fall-back option should the two parties fail to arrive at a consensual agreement. LCOs will have a share in the rental amount paid by the subscribers. They will also take a share from the 20% distribution fee paid by the broadcasters to the DPOs.

Hathway Cable’s content cost, ARPUs and packaging

Hathway’s content cost net of carriage is expected to move in the region of Rs 30-32 per STB. In some of the markets where packaging has taken off like Bengaluru, the penetration of the higher pack is as high as 40%. Besides the apathy of the govt and TRAI, IMCL and Grant Investrade chief Tony D’Silva also bemoans the unfair treatment meted out to HITS project NXT Digital by broadcasters, who charge unrealistic rates for digitising while MSOs pay analogue rates to digitise their network.
