Two STREE SHAKTI Guests Jyoti & Sneha getting Karmveer Award! Kudos to the bravehearts

Mumbai: Doordarshan congratulates her two STREE SHAKTI guests Jyoti Dhawale (HIV Survivor) working for the HIV patients and Sneha Jawale (dowry burn survivor and a tarrot reader, tea and coffee cup reader) for getting a Karamveer Award in Delhi. It is an honour, which can inspire few more Stree Shaktis and give them courage to speak about their stories to the world. Women like them need inspiration and encouragement by the society to live and tell them story.

About the Award:

‘The REX Karmaveer Global Fellowships program mobilizes young innovators and champions of change from all knowledge and disciplines across the globe to bring their ideas and passion to the REX fellowship for shared learning. REX Karmaveer Global Fellows are established for recognising budding champions in their respective fields, inspirational role models and the architects of simple ideas for action.’

Dr Varghese Kurien, social entrepreneur and the “Father of the White Revolution”, who is also known for making Amul into a successful enterprise, was the first recepient of the award back in 2012.

After the Stree Shakti show which is aired on Doordarshan on Saturdays and Sundays, Sneha Jawale and Jyoti Dhawale, both from Mumbai, have been conferred with the prestigious KaramVeer Award. The event will be held in Jesus And Mary College Auditorium on 21st to 23rd March 2015.

Dowry burn survivor Sneha Jawale whose in-laws and husband disfigured her face over dowry is well known astrologer and tarrot reader, whereas Jyoti had extensively helped people living with HIV. She has influenced them through the medium of social media, meeting them, educating them and mentally preparing them to re-live their life.
