The Bollywood Roundtables – The Newcomers

MUMBAI: CNN-News18 is back with its special show ‘The Bollywood Roundtables’ that features India’s finest artists from Bollywood. Hosted by Entertainment Editor Rajeev Masand, the series features candid, free-wheeling and eye-opening conversations with guests discussing their craft, inspiration, influences and challenges they face.

In a special one-off episode featuring the most promising newcomers of Hindi film industry, Rajeev Masand interacts with Fatima Sana Shaikh, Jim Sarbh, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala who delivered spectacular performances in the year 2016. While Fatima captured the fierce spirit of wrestler Geeta Phogat with remarkable sensitivity in “Dangal”, Jim Sarbh effectively conveyed the madness and the unpredictability of a terrorist who had taken a plane hostage in “Neerja”. Harshvardhan Kapoor connected both characters he played in “Mirzya” by internalizing their conflict with a searing intensity and those piercing eyes. And playing the independent yet vulnerable girlfriend of a sadistic police officer in “Raman Raghav 2.0”, Sobhita Dhulipala delivered an affecting performance.

These newcomers have made a lasting impression on the audiences with their unique roles. Catch these four upcoming actors talk about their newfound fame, about facing confidence issues, and the politics of nepotism when they assembled for The Newcomers Roundtable.
