Seiko is the official ‘timing partner’ of Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon
MUMBAI: Procam International has announced the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon’s (SCMM) association with timing major Seiko as Official ‘Timing Partner’ of the event. This is the first year that Seiko is partnering India’s leading and Mumbai’s most awaited annual sporting and social event.
Over the years, brands have partnered SCMM for the transformational role it plays in bringing individuals, organisations and institutions together. As a leading partner of timing services and sports sponsorships, SEIKO has been the choice of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) at its major Championships, supplying timing and measurement services to over 150 IAAF events in every corner of the globe since 1985.
Procam International joint MD Vivek Singh said, “New and existing associations draw attention to the trust and belief Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon partners place in the event on an ongoing basis. I am delighted that the event will have the support of a respected international brand like SEIKO as Official ‘Timing Partner’. The brand’s commitment to sport is recognized and respected across the world and we look forward to working closely with SEIKO to advance the professional standards of the event in the years to come.”
Seiko India president Atsushi Kaneko said, “As a global brand, we have been associated for many years with leading sporting events, teams and individuals all over the world. Sport, and in particular athletics, is at the heart of the SEIKO brand, so we are delighted to forge a partnership with the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon. By attracting the world’s top distance runners to India, the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon has sparked a running revolution in this country. Seiko is glad to support the growth of this sport and to serve this event as Official Timing Partner and we hope to contribute to its success and help it to become one of the top marathons in the world”.
This January, once again, Mumbai will witness a bigger, better and stronger marathon where runners from across the world will come together to participate in seven categories that will include the main Marathon, DHL Corporate Champions, Police Cup, Half Marathon, Dream Run, Sr. Citizens’ Run, and Champions with Disability. Approximately 40,000 professional athletes, serious runners, and health and fitness enthusiasts from different corners of the globe and Mumbai are expected to participate in the event. This will include many of the world’s best long distance athletes.
