Ravi and Shabbir turn anchors

Television’s hearth-throbs – Ravi Dubey and Shabbir Ahluwalia will be seen hosting Zee Rishtey Awards this year.

They have wooed you with their acting prowess and their convincing portrayal of Sid in Jamai Raja and Abhi of KumKum Bhagya and now are all set to don the hat of hosts. ZEE TV’s popular actors Ravi Dubey and Shabbir Ahluwalia will be seen co-hosting ZEE Rishtey Awards 2014, an annual property of the channel that recognizes and awards the invaluable contribution of every single person in front of and behind the camera.

Anchoring not as Ravi and Shabbir but as their on-screen characters, the two will be seen hosting the entire show as Rock star Abhi and Sid. While Abhi holds the image of a rock star and has a huge fan following, Sid is the boy-next-door who has charmed the audience with his simplicity. Anchoring in hindi, the sweet and polite jamai raja – Sid will be seen helping the snob – Rockstar Abhi comprehend some of those difficult hindi words and phrases. The poles-apart duo will bring the house down with their witty one-liners and their gags will definitely tickle your funny bone. Taking the fun quotient a notch higher, they will also be seen picking on their co-actors and pulling pranks on the more sporting ones!

About hosting the show, Ravi said, “I have attended Zee Rishtey Awards earlier, but this time it is special as I am now a part of the Zee family. I feel honoured and actually lucky to have got the opportunity of hosting in my very first year as a Zee family member. In fact, my fellow anchor – Shabbir, is also a new entrant in the family and we are a littlenervous about having to pull pranks on some senior actors who have been a part of the Zee family for long. Our fingers are crossed and we hope not just the audience but the entire Zee family enjoys our anchoring.”

The star spangled soiree, will see the cast and crew of all the shows on ZEE TV come together under one roof to celebrate their on-screen and off-screen relationships as this is the only place reel life relationships transcend into real life bonding.
