New Delhi: India’s most favourite news channel NDTV and largest education company, Educomp joined hands to recognise and felicitate efforts made by schools, educators and administrators to impart quality education under multiple categories, across the country. Conducted in stages across pan India, the Education Awards received over 1600 nominations from across all four zones – North, South, East and West. The awards were the culmination of a comprehensive assessment where at every regional round, winners were announced. The jury then shortlisted participants from the regional awards, who went on to compete at the national level where their performance was further assessed by the same jury of personalities, known for their contribution to education.

The jury panel consisted of Ashok Ganguly, Educationist & Former Chairman, CBSE; Abha Adams, Education Consultant; Lata Vaidyanathan, Director, TERI Prakriti School, Delhi; Pramath Raj Sinha, Founder & Trustee, Ashoka University, Founding Dean, ISB; Rupamanjari Ghosh, Vice-Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University and Natasha Jog, Senior Anchor & Senior Editor, NDTV.

We are all here to celebrate such leaders and better the process of learning, as I truly believe that it is a lifelong process.”

Speaking at the event, Mr. Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi, said, “Quality education is the need of the hour in our country. Our prime focus for the last two years has been to ensure that education is imparted through creative learning method so that our kids can have a good understanding of them. Our education system has become a victim to time bound curriculum which in most cases means subjects are taught in haste and it’s not exactly knowledge sharing. We’re working to change that.”

Speaking about the initiative, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, the Sarod maestro said, “I feel education creates compassion and kindness in a child. But now a days, kids are becoming more and more impatient, so I think parents should give more time to their children. For me, education is music in my life.”
