Music lovers from across the globe descend upon the sands of Candolim for Vh1 Supersonic 2015
MUMBAI: It’s already Day 3 of the most amazing music festival this side of the planet – Vh1 Supersonic 2015 – and the music’s just getting better and better. The day began with mind blowing beats that would make your bones rattle with joy as Ryan Nogar and Sid took to the Laboratoire Supersonique stage sharp at 1 PM. Following them, DJ Navin, Brainwash, Zaeden and Bl@nk took to the stage to wow the audiences some more.
As the evening progressed, one could see a multitude of fans flocking to the three stages at Vh1 Supersonic 2015 – Laboratoire Supersonique, Spectrum and the iconic Iron Heart. Such is the majestic stature of Vh1 Supersonic that music fans come flocking to the festival from countries as diverse as Denmark, Russia, England, Australia, New Zealand and many more. Candolim turned into a mini global village of sorts where people from different nationalists, races and communities came together, united in their love for dance music.
Sarah from Australia said, “I found out about the festival online and was excited to see the interesting line up of artists performing at the event. I’ve bought a pass for the entire festival and I’m going to be coming here for each performance!” Echoing her love for dance music, Julia from Russia said, “I was holidaying in Goa when I saw hoardings of Vh1 Supersonic. I’m a huge fan of Disclosure and Zedd. I was blown away by their performances.”
Not to be left behind, three strapping lads from England – Adam, Stephen and John – were busy cooling off with ice-creams at the little flea market at the Vh1 Supersonic venue and couldn’t stop raving about the event, “We heard the music down at the beach and had to come check it out,” says Adam. “We got to the Box Office and bought our tickets and here we are…mixing drinks with ice-creams on a beach in Goa, India and listening to some crazy music. Our holiday couldn’t get sweeter than this!” When asked which artists they were looking forward to for the day, the boys jumped in with their favourites which included Culture Shock, Deorro, Luigi Madonna, Joran Van Pol and Pravvy Prav.
Fans of dance music who had queued up to listen to their favourite artists perform were in for a pleasant surprise as they were greeted with a mini-flea which sold everything from cool funky beach clothes, to jewelry to even merchandise made exclusively for Vh1 Supersonic fans! Fans were also seen enjoying a quick go at the zorb, even zorb racing with friends in the sand to some crazy thumping music in the background!
Visitors to the festival could indulge in some quick retail therapy to outfit themselves in the best of festival gear before grabbing a bit to eat at the multiple stalls serving delicious snacks which included everything from hearty burgers to creamy ice-creams – the perfect way to line that tummy before heading for the bar! And that’s not all, for those who wanted to indulge in some down time and relax after all that crazy dancing in the sand, one could kick back and have a shisha by the shore! Great food, shopping and a festival of majestic proportions…can anyone think of a better way to enjoy a Tuesday evening?
Shout out to all the party mongers! If you’re not already here…make sure you get here…ASAP!
