Vh1 to air 2014 MTV Movie Awards live
MUMBAI: Viacom18’s English music channel Vh1 is all set to air the 2014 MTV Movie Awards live for its Indian viewers on 14 April.
The awards will be telecast live at 6:30 am with a pre-show at 6 am and a primetime repeat at 9 pm on 14 April.
Presented by Micromax, the awards will be hosted by actors Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort of ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, joining the star studded line-up of presenters including Emmy Award-winning comedian and late night talk show host Conan O’Brien along with Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton and Leslie Mann.
Making the awards more quirky this year is the introduction of new categories like ‘Favourite Character’, ‘Best Kiss’ and ‘Best Shirtless Performance’.
Viacom18 Media SVP and general manager English entertainment Ferzad Palia said, “There is a huge rise in the demand of English entertainment amongst the Indian audiences and Vh1 has a great line-up of shows and awards this April to keep the audience entertained. Our viewers have an exciting experience to look forward to as stars will descend on Vh1 for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards and will bring with them all the razzmatazz, the whacky moments in true MTV style and interesting award categories to make it an event to remember.”
This year, actor and producer Mark Wahlberg will be honoured with the MTV Generation Award ahead of the release of his film ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ in June.
The awards will also showcase performances by Ellie Goulding and Zedd among others.
The channel is home to several international award properties to give its audiences a healthy dose of international entertainment. Among the recent international award ceremonies aired on the channel are Brit Awards and the 71st Annual Golden Globe awards.
