Rajkot IPL team to be known as Gujarat Lions; Raina is captain

MUMBAI: The new IPL franchise from Rajkot, owned by Intex Mobiles, will be known as Gujarat Lions. Suresh Raina will lead the team.

Earlier the decision was made to name the other new franchise from Pune as Rising Pune Supergiants.

The four other players in the Gujarat Lions are the explosive New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum, West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Australia all-rounder James Faulkner.

Former Australia batsman Brad Hodge is the head coach of the team.
