Pune set to host GroundPost digital summit on 27 June

MUMBAI: After Solapur and Indore, TelevisionPost.com’s on-ground initiative GroundPost moves to the city of Pune, also known as the Oxford of the East. The main agenda of the event is to discuss the way forward to make cable TV digitisation a success.

Pune bannerAimed at fostering better relations among broadcasters, multi-system operators (MSOs) and last mile operators (LMOs), the on-ground initiative will take place on Friday 27 June at Le Méridien hotel.

In keeping with the profile of the event, it will be a meeting ground of several industry big shots. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) principal advisor N Parameswaran will give a keynote speech on the progress made by the regulator on implementing digitisation.

The event will see industry veterans like DEN Networks CEO SN Sharma, Dish TV CEO RC Venkateish, Digicable MD and CEO Jagjit Kohli, IndiaCast COO Gaurav Gandhi and Hathway Cable & Datacom VP operations Rohinton Dadyburjor sharing their experience with the audience about digitisation.

Other speakers include Cisco CTO – India service provider video Manoj Barara, Verimatrix sales director India and SAARC Naveen Kumar, Broadcom director business development Rahul Khosla, Exponentia Capital principal Neeraj Bhatia, and IDFC vice president of research Rohit Dokania.

The event is expected to be attended by 250 operators from Pune and other cities of Maharashtra besides executives from broadcast, MSO and DTH companies.

There will be three sessions, namely ‘How to move forward on digitisation’, ‘How to create a robust broadband ecosystem’ and ‘Dynamics of Pune and adjoining market’. The event will also host a meet-and-greet with the stars of a popular Colors show.
