New Theatres to use Dolby Atmos

MUMBAI: New Theatres has installed Dolby Atmos cinema sound technology in two of its screens.

Located in Trivandrum, New Theatres is one of the oldest and most prestigious theatres in the city. Filmmakers use Dolby Atmos to place and move sounds anywhere in the movie theatre, including overhead, to make film audiences feel as if they are inside the movie and not just watching it.

Merryland Cinemas MD S. Murugan said, “New Theatres is proud to work with Dolby to implement the groundbreaking Dolby Atmos sound technology. This marks another significant milestone for us as we continue to offer the most innovative cinema technologies to our patrons, ensuring a multidimensional sound experience to movie lovers in India. We are confident that Dolby Atmos will prove to be one of the main attractions for audiences.”

Dolby Laboratories India director marketing Ashim Mathur said, “With Dolby Atmos audiences are no longer watching a movie, they are experiencing it. We are very excited to work with New Theatres to bring what we hope is the ultimate cinematic experience to moviegoers in Trivandrum. We are confident that moviegoers will go back again and again to New Theatres for the extraordinary experience that only Dolby Atmos can deliver.”
