NBC International TV Asia Pacific ups Che to MD

MUMBAI: NBCUniversal International Television has announced the promotion of Justin Che to the newly created role of MD, International Television, Asia Pacific.

In this new position, Che will lead the company’s television business across Asia Pacific, overseeing both content distribution and channels for the region from the company’s Singapore office.

Che’s appointment is effective immediately, reporting to NBCUniversal International Television Distribution and Universal Networks International president Belinda Menendez.

Universal Networks International MD, Asia Pacific Christine Fellowes will continue in her key leadership position overseeing the Asia Pacific networks business, driving the ongoing growth of the company’s portfolio of six channel brands across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Additionally, Rajiv Dhawn is promoted from VP, Sales Liaison to senior VP sales Liaison Asia, NBCUniversal International Television. Dhawn will continue to be responsible for the Free TV, Pay-TV, transactional VOD/EST, SVOD and AVOD content licensing activities across the Asia Pacific region.

Menendez said, “Justin’s appointment to jointly lead both our distribution and channels businesses aligns with NBCUniversal’s overall strategy to integrate our portfolio of television assets in a more holistic way in key growth markets. Asia Pacific is an increasingly important focus area for our international television business and Justin, Christine and Rajiv’s collaborative expertise will drive growth for our business in the region.”

Che moves into this position from his previous role as SVP, Sales Liaison, Asia Pacific, NBCUniversal International Television Distribution. Prior to this, he was VP, Corporate Business Development and Strategic Planning in LA, where he worked on various mergers and acquisitions projects, including the General Electric/NBC and Vivendi transactions. He has held multiple roles within NBCUniversal since joining the company since joining in 1997.
