‘Kong: Skull Island’ crosses $140 mn globally in opening weekend

MUMBAI: Warner Bros. monster flick ‘Kong: Skull Island’ has crossed $140 mn globally in the opening weekend.

comScore has announced the official worldwide weekend box office estimates for the weekend of 12 March, as compiled by the company’s theatrical measurement services. One of the big hits is ‘Get Out’ which cost less than $5 million to make and has crossed $100 million at the box office.

comScore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, “Warner Bros.’ ‘Kong: Skull Island’ roared into theaters with an impressive $81.6 million this weekend on 20,400 screens in 65 international territories.  Combined with a number one North American debut of $61 million this beauty of a beast earned a chest-pounding $142.6 million worldwide.”

The top 12 worldwide weekend box office estimates, listed in descending order, per data collected as of 12 March, are:
