Hungama launches initiatives to promote Live Viacom 18’s Slash concert

MUMBAI: With legendary rock icon Slash making his India debut at the latest edition of Live Viacom18’s pop culture fest ‘MTV Indies Extreme’, the digital partner of the event Hungama has launched a range of initiatives to build buzz around the event.

Hungama will give away free passes to the concert which is being held in Mumbai and Bangalore.

The rock music and adventure sports festival will feature Slash performing his new studio album ‘World on Fire’ along with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.

As the exclusive digital partner for the event, Hungama has rolled out ‘The Legend: Slash’ playlist for its users. It features popular songs like ‘Sweet Child of Mine’, ‘World on Fire’, ‘Paradise City’ and ‘Back From Cali’ on their app.

Hungama will also run a social media contest where subscribers could win free passes to the event. Participants will have to send in answers to trivia questions based on the Slash tracks on the Hungama app to win passes. The contest runs all day on 6 November before the event kicks off in Mumbai. CEO Siddharth Roy said, “Hungama is delighted to be associated with rock legends like Slash. We are happy that our subscribers will get a chance to be a part of this experience and witness history in the making. This is the beginning of the many exciting things we will be bringing to our subscribers through our association with Live Viacom 18.”

The digital brand will further set up an innovative digital photo booth that creates GIFs using engaging imagery. To enhance the experience, attendees can use funky props available at the booth. The GIF images will be a part of a series of GIFs that will be promoted across social media and Hungama’s digital platforms with the hashtag #HungamawithSlash.

Slash will be performing at the Jio Gardens BKC in Mumbai on 7 November and at the Hard Rock Café in Bangalore on 14 November.
