FremantleMedia to go to Mipcom with variety of content

MUMBAI: Television format creator, distributor FremantleMedia International (FMI) heads into this month’s television trade event Mipcom with a variety of content.

Continuing to bring buyers dramas from around the world, FMI adds Miso Film’s atmospheric Swedish crime thriller ‘Modus’ and Kudos Production’s ‘Capital’ to its line up.

FMI recently put the spotlight on European drama with the ‘Deutschland 83’ on Sundance TV in the US. The spy thriller became the first German-language series to have ever aired on a major US network.

There is Paul Abbott’s unconventional police procedural, ‘No Offence’ which has been commissioned for a second season and will launch in 2016.

The FMI non-scripted catalogue continues to grow with new talent and titles to complement the existing line up. New for Mipcom is ‘Simply Nigella’, the food writer and TV cook Nigella Lawson will join FMI in Cannes to launch the series. Having taken previous Jamie Oliver titles to over 200 territories worldwide, FMI is set to present the next instalment from the television personality to buyers with ‘Jamie’s Super Food’.

With ‘The X Factor UK’ sales reaching over 168 territories, FMI has added the accompanying ‘Xtra Factor’ to its entertainment portfolio. The fan favourite features more of the mayhem, madness and backstage news from The X Factor UK.

Finally, growing its factual portfolio further, FMI has acquired ‘Soundbreaking’. The eight-part documentary series traces the history of music and features never before seen exclusive footage that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the magic behind music.

FremantleMedia International CEO Jens Richter said, “We’re thrilled to be heading to MIPCOM with a catalogue of outstanding and diverse programming across all genres. The range features stunning series from some of the best producers in the world with great on and off-camera talent including Emmy-award winning drama writers and BAFTA award-winning TV personalities. We’ve had an exciting year.”
