Cinépolis launches new multiplex in Greater Noida
MUMBAI: International movie theatre chain Cinépolis has opened its five-screen multiplex at The Grand Venice Mall in Greater Noida (Delhi NCR) on 1 October.
With the launch of this property, Cinépolis now runs as many as 29 screens across eight properties in the NCR.
Speaking on the occasion, Cinépolis India MD Javier Sotomayor said, “We are delighted to introduce our first property in Greater Noida. This launch is in line with our strategy to expand our presence in Delhi/NCR and The Grand Venice is a landmark venue to be present in. We have aggressive expansion plans, which include investment of up to Rs 800 crore over the next six years. The aim is to become one of the top 3 players in the Indian exhibition space in the next 3–4 years.”
This marks Cinépolis’ seventh organic opening this year, and it is one of the first properties to start operations at The Grand Venice Mall, which is located off the Yamuna Expressway. The mall is themed around the city design of Venice and is situated 15 minutes off Noida.
On the launch of the new multiplex, Cinépolis India director of strategic initiatives Devang Sampat stated, “Cinépolis is on a continuous growth trajectory in India and the new launch in Greater Noida is one of our most remarkable achievements. Our theatres are equipped with the best sound and projection systems to provide the most intimate atmosphere for the movie goers, coupled with that we have RealD 3D technology for best 3D movie watching experience.
“The property also offers a plethora of F&B options from our signature gourmet concept chain, Coffee Tree. The theatre has specially designed seating with ample leg space to ensure maximum comfort and a superlative movie watching experience,” he added.
With this latest launch, Cinépolis now boasts 274 screens across 41 cities in the country. Its recent acquisitions have made Cinépolis the fastest growing multiplex chain across India.
The five-screen Cinépolis property can accommodate up to 851 movie goers. The theatre will run 22 daily shows, which will comprise a mix of the best of Bollywood, Hollywood and regional content. It will offer a premium experience, which includes amenities available only at Cinépolis.
