Baseline to be exclusive L&M partner for Toonz Media
MUMBAI: Baseline, a sports marketing and licensing company, will now be the exclusive licensing and merchandising partner for Toonz Media Group, an animation company and a part of the Comcraft Group from Geneva, Switzerland.
Baseline and Toonz Media Group have inked a multi-year global deal. As per the deal, Baseline will bring sales and marketing support to Toonz Media.
Baseline MD Tuhin Mishra said, “Licensing is a very important vertical for us. When an opportunity came to join hands with the premier licensing company like Toonz Media Group, we jumped at the opportunity. Toonz Media comes with a huge repository of brands that it owns or has acquired over a period of time. We are sure it will be a mutually beneficial partnership in the times to come.”
Toonz has several cartoon characters, a mix of self-created and some acquired from the likes of Walt Disney, Turner, Nickelodeon, Sony, Universal, BBC, Paramount, Marvel and Hallmark. Baseline’s prime objective is to promote Toonz Media Group’s characters in South Asia region.

Founded in 1999, Toonz Media Group and its flagship divisions Toonz Entertainment and Toonz Animation encompass dedicated divisions with activity spanning IP creation, production, distribution and rights exploitation, digital and gaming content, licensing and merchandising as well as training. Its production studio boasts of co-production partnerships with companies including Walt Disney, Turner, Nickelodeon, Sony, Universal, BBC and Paramount as well as the creation of India’s first 2D animated TV series and 2D feature film and India’s first 3D stereoscopic theatrical release.
Tooz New Zealand, the group’s recent addition, will focus on production and distribution in the Australasian market. They will also specialise in L&M and international live action in the Toonz slate. Toonz Digital, the digital arm, is primarily involved in web TV for kids under the name ‘Chotoonz’. It is also involved in game development and consulting in the social media space.
