Alan Cumming to host Intl Emmy awards show on 21 November

MUMBAI: The International Academy of Television Arts And Sciences announced that theatre, film and TV actor Alan Cumming will host the International Emmy Awards Gala on 21 November in New York.

“Alan Cumming is a master artist, actor, author, and entertainer who for the last thirty years, has been continually taking his craft to new heights. We are proud to have this multi-talented performer as our host this year,” said International Academy of Television Arts And Sciences president, CEO Bruce L. Paisner.

Over 1000 international media and entertainment executives convene in New York each year for the International Emmy Awards Gala. In addition to the presentation of Emmy Awards for programming, the Academy will present two special awards.

As previously announced Shonda Rhimes, the writer, executive producer and creator behind the series ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Scandal’, ‘Private Practice’ and ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ will receive the 2016 International Emmy® Founders Award. Danish Broadcasting Corporation CEO, DG Maria Rørbye Rønn, who pioneered and drove the success of Nordic Noir drama around the world, will receive the 2016 International Emmy® Directorate Award.

This year’s gala partners are: Phoenix Satellite Television, Globo, Dori Media Group, Semba, Ernst & Young, Deluxe, Mipcom, Sofitel Luxury Hotels and Variety.
