Adrian Sexton is Endemol Beyond USA COO

MUMBAI: Endemol Beyond USA, the channel network and digital division of Endemol Shine North America, has added to its leadership team, appointing former Lionsgate and Participant Media executive Adrian Sexton as its COO.

The announcement was made by Endemol Beyond USA president Will Keenan. Sexton, formerly head of digital at Participant Media, will oversee building new strategic partnerships and investments, business development, strategy, sales and distribution opportunities for the premium channel network. Sexton is based in the company’s Los Angeles office.

As a premium channel network (PCN), Endemol Beyond USA content is available across more than 20 platforms including YouTube, Yahoo, AOL, Roku, TiVo, DailyMotion and Amazon Fire TV. Endemol Beyond USA produces and distributes premium-quality, online content starring influential talent such as Pitbull, Michelle Phan, Brittany Furlan, Drea De Matteo and Andy Milonakis across lifestyle, comedy, reality and music-themed digital networks.

Keenan said, “Adrian’s wealth of experience in both digital and traditional media is the right fit for Endemol Beyond USA as we continue to pioneer the world’s first premium channel network that’s now home to some of the most influential talent and hottest content in the digital space. We’d be hard-pressed to find a more intelligent and hard-working executive to further develop our business.”

Sexton said, “With experience building digital businesses at independents like Lionsgate, Participant Media and multiple venture-backed start-ups, I was looking for a highly entrepreneurial media company that invests in new content, technologies and audiences. Endemol Beyond sits at this intersection of media and technology. Working closely with Will Keenan is a great complement to my business-building strengths.”

Sexton was previously Participant Media executive VP digital, where he was the architect behind the next generation social action network TakePart.com. Before that, he was head of digital and business development at Lionsgate, where he was part of the senior team managing major studio transactions and strategic deals with BMW, Google and Microsoft.

Sexton also recently held the position of Dynamics chief developer officer which is Bain Capital Venture’s highest Series B investment in financial tech. Sexton is responsible for co-founding Tag Strategic and New Medici agencies, which worked with Ogilvy, Qualcomm, Universal, Fox and Sony, among others. He started his media career at Sony Television under Jon Feltheimer.
