Tata Motors joins Chennai Open as ‘Official Car Partner’

MUMBAI: Indian auto major Tata Motors has come on board as the ‘Official Car Partner’ of Aircel Chennai Open 2015. This is the first year that Tata is partnering the event, the 20th edition of which will be held at Chennai’s SDAT Stadium from 5 to 11 January 2015.

The title sponsor for the tournament is Aircel and the event is supported by a consortium of sponsors in the ‘Platinum’ category, headed by the government of Tamil Nadu.

Tata Motors president of passenger vehicle business unit Mayank Pareek said, “It is our pleasure to partner India’s premier and South Asia’s only ATP World Tour—the Aircel Chennai Open. Sport is an integral part of today’s youth who believe in living a life full of energy and enthusiasm. IMG Reliance chief operating officer Ashu Jindal said, “We are glad to enter into a partnership with Tata Motors and thank the company for the support and placing their trust in us. The Tata Bolt will be our official car in the 20th edition and we look forward to providing India’s newest hatchback with a worthy brand-building platform during the tournament.”

The 20th edition of the Aircel Chennai Open will present an exceptional assembly of talent that includes four top-25 players and three 2014 ATP World Tour Award winners.

Cutting off at 95, the strong player field for the region’s most exciting and hard-fought tennis tournament will witness some of the world’s most exciting names in tennis converging in India.

These include thrilling talent such as World No. 4 and defending singles champion Stan Wawrinka, World No. 14 Feliciano Lopez, World No. 15 Roberto Bautista Agut and World No. 22 David Goffin. Other leading players who will add excitement to the event include Spaniards Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Marcel Granollers, Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller, Taiwan’s Yen-Hsun Lu and 2014 finalist Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
