Prayag bags title sponsorship of India–Zim ODI
MUMBAI: Bath assets and sanitary ware brand Prayag has bagged the title sponsorship for the upcoming India–Zimbabwe One Day International (ODI) series.
ITW has been Prayag’s sports marketing partner in this initiative. ITW/Techfront is also the exclusive marketing partner for Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) for this series.
The series, titled Prayag Cup 2015, kicks off on July 10, featuring three ODI matches at Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe.
Prayag India CMD VK Aggarwal said, “It is a matter of great pride for us to be the title sponsor for this series. Cricket offers a great platform to connect with millions of cricket lovers in the country. The idea behind any sponsorship is to connect with our customers beyond our product offerings and drive our saliency amongst them. We are proud to be associated with Zimbabwe Cricket and are elated to continue our patronage and support for the game.”
“This tour will be important for the young guns in India. The fight for a place in the full-strength squad will make the series interesting,” he further added.
This is the first association between Prayag and Zimbabwe Cricket.
Speaking on the association, ITW Sports MD & CEO Vikram Tanwar said, “We are happy to partner with Zimbabwe Cricket and take this series to various brands in India. We have been managing Prayag’s association with sports previously and, with the title sponsorship of this series, I’m certain that Prayag will cement its reputation as a leading brand in its field. Our attempt at ITW is to ensure that our partnership with brands provides the right platform for them to connect with their target audience and enhance their business. I do hope the viewers enjoy the matches over the next few weeks.”
Zimbabwe Cricket director of international cricket and operations Alistair Campbell said, “Zimbabwe Cricket is pleased to have Prayag as the title sponsor of the ODI series, which will now be referred to as the Prayag Cup 2015. I welcome the Indian Cricket Team and Prayag to Zimbabwe. We are confident that our association with ITW will help brands to get the right impetus and reach. We look forward to some interesting cricket and good competition between the two teams.”
Prayag was earlier associated with Asia Cup as an associate sponsor and with the IPL as an official team partner of Kings XI Punjab for the last three years.
