Pranav Harihar Sharma is Rediffusion Y&R executive creative director, North and West
MUMBAI: Rediffusion Y&R has appointed Pranav Harihar Sharma as executive creative director, North and West.
In his 15 years of experience in advertising, Sharma has worked across agencies such as DDB Mudra, JWT, Linen Lintas and Rediffusion Y&R. He has done notable work on brands such as Crocin, Sensodyne, Fox Life, National Geographic, Big FM, Epic Channel, Pizza Hut, Walmart, Sony, Star News and Economic Times.
This year, Sharma was chosen as one of the Adfest – Fabulous Four Directors. The short film ‘Watermelon’, written and directed by him, was selected in this year’s Cannes Film Festival 2015 – Short Films Corner.
In the course of his career, Sharma has won more than 100 national and 50 international advertising creativity & effectiveness awards.
Rediffusion Y&R president Dhunji S Wadia said, “Pranav is a one-of-a-kind creative person. He is a man of many skills and a bundle of energy. At Rediffusion, we have seasoned professionals from marketing, research, advertising, design and interactive backgrounds coming together to build strong client relationships. Pranav’s understanding of the film medium, along with his creative acumen, will add significantly to our repertoire. I’m happy to welcome him back to our Rediffusion family.”
Rediffusion Y&R chief creative officer Rahul Jauhari said, “Pranav is a multi-faceted, rising star who has done brilliantly well at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival as well as the Cannes International Film Festival. I’m more than happy to have someone who combines a flair for advertising along with a passion for film-making. Rediffusion has historically been a springboard for people with a passion for more than one thing. As ECD North and West, in addition to handling Mumbai businesses, Pranav will work with Jaideep Mahajan in building our Delhi operations into a creative powerhouse.”
On rejoining Rediffusion Y&R, Sharma said, “This is actually dual ‘home coming’ for me. Apart from coming back to the Rediffusion group, where I have worked earlier both in Mumbai and Delhi offices, I am coming back to advertising too after a real tiny break. When Rahul and Dhunji offered me to work for both Mumbai and Delhi offices, along with the flexibility to pursue my film direction, it was more than an ‘ideal’ job for me. The level of comfort I enjoy with Rahul, having worked with him in the past, and the opportunity to use my experience of working at the Mumbai and Delhi markets makes the decision an absolute no-brainer. I am looking forward to create some real magic in the second innings.”
