Ad honcho Pratap Bose launches marketing agency ‘The Social Street’
MUMBAI: Advertising honcho and former COO of DDB Mudra Pratap Bose has launched a marketing agency named ‘The Social Street’, along with three other partners.
The independent agency has been launched with support from Bose’s former colleague and Mudra Communications president Mandeep Malhotra, entrepreneur Arjun Reddy and senior director and India lead for global corporate development team at tech and services firm Accenture Pradeep Uppalapati.
Positioned as a digitally driven agency, it will commence its operations from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. ‘The Social Street’ will offer branded content and entertainment, shopper marketing, media, OOH, retail, sport marketing, events and promotions, rural marketing, trade marketing and youth marketing.
The Social Street MD and chairman Pratap Bose said, “Everybody today wants to start something they can call their own, something they can create from scratch. And thankfully for me, this dream has come true. It’s been a year of hard work and patience, but the fruits have started to pay off. This wouldn’t have been possible without Mandeep, Arjun, Pradeep and all the employees who have put their faith and trust in me.”
The agency aims to add advertising, digital and social to its offerings by the end of the financial year, with more offices spread out across the country.
The name ‘The Social Street’ springs from the thought that every brand’s story starts on the street. They are inspired by the lives of consumers. They are born on the crossroads, where the lives of consumers meet the purpose of the brand. In today’s world that thrives on co-creation, and two of advertising’s sought after names, Josy Paul, chairman and CCO BBDO India, and Bobby Pawar, director and CCO, Publicis South Asia helped with the name and its brand identity.
Bose added, “I would also like to thank Josy and Bobby especially for helping out in their own affectionate way. Our aim at The Social Street is to find, tell and amplify the stories that are inspired by the lives of consumers and intersect them with brands. We are here to connect the streets that make brands social. And nobody will be able to navigate these streets as well as we can.”
An Economic Times report mentions that while Bose is the chairman of the agency, other founding partners Malhotra, Reddy and Uppalapati, will take over as chief executive officer, vice-chairman and chief financial officer respectively. The agency is still scouting for a chief creative officer.
Malhotra stated, “I am very excited and am looking forward to being a part of this unique agency and hope to build The Social Street into one of the hottest agencies in the years to come.”
Uppalapati remarked, “The Social Street is an agency that is capable of addressing the entire suite of client marketing requirements.
