GroundPost makes next stop at Bengaluru on 3 March
MUMBAI: After successfully hosting its digital summits in Solapur, Indore, Pune, Patna, Agra, Hisar and Vadodara, TelevisionPost.com is all set to take its on-ground initiative GroundPost to the IT city Bengaluru, state capital of Karnataka.
Marking TelevisionPost.com’s first initiative in South India, GroundPost Bengaluru will take place on 3 March at the Chancery Pavilion.
Sharing his views, TelevisionPost.com co-founder and editor-in-chief Sibabrata Das opined, “This is GroundPost’s first outing outside the Hindi-speaking market, thus signifying the seriousness of our drive to take digitisation national. It is also a significant cable broadband market. Bengaluru could be a learning ground for other cities to follow.”
The Bengaluru edition of GroundPost will be a high-profile event, with participation from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), along with the CEOs of Hathway Cable & Datacom and Siti Cable.
With Bengaluru falling under Phase II of the digital addressable system (DAS), the daylong event will see industry experts share their experiences of digitisation, MSO–LCO business model, RIO dynamics and more. They will also discuss issues related to the market such as billing and packaging.
Talking about the event, TelevisionPost.com co-founder and CEO Himanshu Dhoreliya added, “While South is a key market, we haven’t seen many industry events of this scale happening in this region—events where the stakeholders can come together and discuss their issues on an open platform. Hence, we decided to give them this platform, where they can come and share their views and provide suggestions.”
The Bengaluru event will see industry experts give their views on a number of issues including carriage, content deals, RIO, opportunities, billing, and packaging.
Keynotes will be delivered by TRAI advisor (Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Goa) Dr Sibichen K Mathew, Hathway Cable & Datacom MD & CEO Jagdish Kumar, and Siti Cable executive director and CEO VD Vadhwa. Castle Media director Vynsley Fernandes will moderate the opening session.
The event’s presenting sponsor is Colors, while Rishtey has joined as the ‘powered-by’ sponsor. Associate partners are Hathway, DEN, Siti Cable, ACT Fibernet, Cisco, and FoodFood.
