MIB issues 39 new provisional MSO licences; total now at 561
MUMBAI: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has issued 39 new provisional multi-system operator (MSO) licences.
The total number of provisional registrations now stands at 561, as on 28 March.
Assam-based GTPL V&S Cable has received a provisional registration for the states of Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
Tamil Nadu-based Raj Cable TV Network has acquired a registration for the all five states in South India.
The ministry has granted the maximum number of registrations to MSOs in Maharashtra and Odisha. Seven MSOs from Maharashtra and five from Odisha have received provisional registrations.
The rest of the registrations have been issued to MSOs from Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and North East.
The area of Mathura-based Nova Digital & Broadband’s provisional registration has been revised to pan-India. Earlier, the registration was only for Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
